Minister Appeals for Korean Investment in The Tourism, Arts and Culture Sector

The Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Catherine Afeku, has appealed for more Korean investments in the culture, Arts and tourism sector.

According to the Minister, Tourism, Culture and Arts is one sure way of building a country’s economy and has therefore suggested the institution of a technical team comprising of officials from the Ministry and the Korean Embassy to work towards strengthening further the bilateral relationship, particular in the area of an exchange programme for practitioners within the sector.

The Minister made the appeal during a courtesy call on her by the Korean Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Wooln – Ki Lyeo to formally introduce himself to the Minister and also to discuss areas the two countries could collaborate more.

She also requested of the Ambassador, the facilitation of a familiar visit to Korea to boost investment drive into the sector.

His Excellency, Wooln – Ki Lyeo was appreciative of the warm reception and assured the Minister of Korea’s commitment to Ghana.

The three keys areas of interest which came up during the discussion were

1.      Investment drive within the sector

2.      Working visit to Korea

      3.      Establishment of a joint technical team to come up with programmes for the mutual benefits of both countries.
