Minister Unveils Leadership of Creative Arts Council

The Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture has unveiled the leadership of the proposed Creative Arts Council in Accra.

This act is in fulfillment of government's commitment to establishing a Creative Arts Council to coordinate and harmonize the various interest and fragmented associations into a well-functioning body which will protect the interests of its members in addition to providing an effective interface between government and all other stake holders.

The 3-member team’s mandate is to consult with industry practitioners throughout the country to determine who should constitute the Council and the numbers and advise government accordingly.

According to the Mrs. Afeku, the selection of the leadership which comprise of Mr. Mark Okraku-Mantey, Gyankromah Akufu-Addo and Bibi Bright as President, Director and Secretary respectively was done in consultation with practitioners and it’s a true representation of what the industry needs.


She assured them of the ministry’s support in achieving this objective and thus appealed to practitioners to also support the leadership in their work.
